Why we chose a gluten & dairy free lifestyle for the time being🤎
For our family, choosing a gluten & dairy-free lifestyle has been one of the most positive changes we've made for our health at this moment in time. This doesn’t mean we wont ever go back to dairy or gluten but for the now- this is whats working for us. Myself, my youngest daughter & son all suffer with gluten/dairy sensitivities. Now, I’m not saying that dairy is bad for you- as actually raw milk, kefir, unpasteurised butter are great probiotics for our health due to the fermentation, so I definitely want to try & reintroduce this into our diets at some point!
With gluten being a main contributor to my little girls eczema & with her being gluten free for such a long time- she began to feel very left out when it came to treats, compared to what other kids & adults around here were eating. Food such as: bread, cakes, ice cream, etc. So- I started making delicious GF bakes to make her feel more included- like everyone else- then came the inspo for my healthy kitchen business.
While gluten/dairy can be well tolerated by some people, they can also be major contributors to inflammation or trigger symptoms—particularly those with coeliac disease, gluten sensitivity, lactose intolerance, cow's milk protein allergy, or certain inflammatory skin conditions.
After removing gluten, dairy, high refined sugars from our diets, we saw significant improvements in our skin health! Eczema became abit easier to manage & after years of struggling with acne, my own skin cleared dramatically. These personal results inspired me to learn more about the connection between nutrition, inflammation & overall health.
As a family, we limit refined sugars- choosing less processed alternatives & naturally occurring sources of sweetness into our recipes. Rather than relying on traditional wheat flour, I often use gluten-free flours such as rice flour, which I have found to work particularly well in many of my home baking & cooking recipes. We also eat a balanced diet with lots of animal protein, lean meats, eggs, whole foods, fresh fruit/veg, seeds/nuts, herbal teas & lots of fermented foods where we can! We also cook everything we eat from scratch.

“Many people who are sensitive to gluten or dairy also report improvements in digestive comfort, bloating, energy levels & skin health after eliminating inflammatory foods. For those with sensitivities to gluten, removing is essential to allow the gut to heal & reduce ongoing inflammation caused by the immune response. Likewise, avoiding dairy is very beneficial for people with sensitivities & many individuals find it helps with inflammatory skin conditions.”
I believe that food is one of the foundations of good health! My aim is to encourage people to become curious about their own health, understand how different foods affect their bodies & make informed choices based on both evidence/their own experiences.
Through my recipes, educational resources & wellness content, I hope to show that eating without gluten or dairy doesn't have to feel restrictive! It can be colourful, nourishing, delicious & full of variety, helping you & your family enjoy wholesome meals while supporting your overall health.
I hope this encourages YOU to explore wholesome foods & discover what helps you feel your healthiest!

Most skin conditions are caused by inflammation inside the body! When there is something not quite right internally- it shows up on your skin first- the body is amazing & does so well at trying to protect us by giving us signs & clues. When the body is highly inflamed, it cannot function properly & does not tolerate certain foods well. Most people find going on an anti-inflammatory diet & including turmeric, omega 3s & probiotics into the diet helps drastically!
